Healthcare Support Services Diploma Level 3

WHO IS THIS QUALIFICATION FOR?

The programme prepares learners for roles such as:

  • Medical/Health Records team leaders/Supervisors 
  • Ward Clerks
  • Housekeeping

This programme is for candidates in Healthcare support services who assist in a non-clinical capacity within a Medical environment.

Support workers tend to have delegated responsibility for a range of task, which enables Health professionals and the wider healthcare team to fulfil their own more effectively.

QUALIFICATION OVERVIEW

The course will support you to undertake your responsibilities within a clinical setting professionally and competently. It will enable you to support the smooth running of the clinical environment. 

On completion of this qualification, you will achieve the following:

  • Diploma in Health (Healthcare Support Services) Level 3

COURSE DELIVERY

This programme will primarily be delivered through 1-to-1 sessions with a member of the ACT delivery team, using a mixture of face-to-face and remote learning sessions. An ACT assessor will meet with the learner, either in the workplace or through digital means (for example, Microsoft Teams) once a month for approximately two hours to support progress.

Learners will also be set tasks to complete between each visit, for approximately 4hours per month (please note – this is just a guide and will vary based on learner needs).

Examples of some of the tasks that might be set by our assessors include:

  • Example 1 – Please answer questions in relation to the following - Your understand of how to comply with policies and procedures surrounding information within a health environment, you can record your answers verbally or you can write them. 
  • Example 2 – Please gather work-based evidence to demonstrate the recommended recording of your Continuous professional development

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

This programme is made up of a mixture of mandatory units (these have to be completed by all learners as part of the qualification) and optional units (we will work with you to decide what units are relevant to your role, and your business).
