WHO IS THIS QUALIFICATION FOR?

The programme prepares learners for roles such as:

  • Administrators
  • Office Junior
  • Receptionist

This programme is for candidates who are looking to further their careers in the Public, Private or Third Sector. It is designed to support the learner to demonstrate their understanding and competence in a work place. Developing their skills to support the needs of the business.

QUALIFICATION OVERVIEW

The course will look at the principles of business, the use of digital skills, supporting others in the workplace, data management, customer service and more. Learners can choose from a range of units, to ensure that they gain the skills needed to make improvements in the workplace.

On completion of this qualification you will achieve the following:

  • City and Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Business Administration Skills (QCF)

COURSE DELIVERY

We will tailor your learning programmes to suit your needs, so that each learner’s experience is unique. While learner’s needs will be different, the recommended time to complete this programme is 12 months.

This programme will primarily be delivered through 1-to-1 sessions with a member of the ACT delivery team, using a mixture of face-to-face and remote learning sessions. An ACT assessor will meet with the learner, either in the workplace or through digital means (for example, Microsoft Teams) once a month for approximately two hours to support progress.

Learners will also be set tasks to complete between each visit, for approximately
2 hours per month (please note – this is just a guide and will vary based on learner needs).

Examples of some of the tasks that might be set by our assessors include:

  • Collection of evidence from the workplace, screen shots of completing a task with a narrative to support the actions that are being completed to meet the criteria, adhering to GDPR.
  • Written or oral knowledge-based questions linked to your job role.

In addition, there are a series of online workshops that provide practical and applicable support to work-based activities. These workshops are available for all learners to book onto.

The workshops will help develop the knowledge and skills needed for your programme. These workshops are delivered using a mix of face-to-face workshops and online programmes such as Microsoft Teams.

Each workshop runs for 2.5 hours (approximately) and are run frequently. 

  • Principles of Providing Administrative Services

  • Principles of Business Documents

  • Understand Employer Organisations

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

This programme is made up of a mixture of mandatory units (these have to be completed by all learners as part of the qualification) and optional units (we will work with you to decide what units are relevant to your role, and your business). The units chosen should reflect the learner’s job role. If the learner/employer wishes for the learner to complete a unit that is not currently part of their job role, then the employer must facilitate opportunities for the learner to complete that activity on a regular basis throughout the course.
