Course Dates   

AM Sessions starts at 9:30am for up to 2 hours
PM Sessions starts at 1:30pm for up to 2 hours
Twilight sessions start at 5pm for up to 2 hours

PLUS two assessment dates to be arranged after the final (8th) teaching session - Assessments take up to 5 hours for level 2

Entry requirements

You will be required to undertake a WEST Initial Assessment to determine your current level prior to enrolment. 

To be eligible for the level 2 training you will need to achieve a level 1 at initial assessment stage.

Course Objectives

These focus on the practical application of these skills, especially learners’ capacity to transfer their knowledge and understanding between contexts and purposes.

To achieve the Essential Application of Number Skills qualification(s), learners are required to demonstrate their skills through both:

• an internally assessed and externally verified Controlled Task; and
• a short, externally marked online Confirmatory Test.

Week 3  Fractions, decimals and percentages (part two)
Week 4  Probability, time, money and conversions
Week 5  Presenting data, including statistics, area and space
Week 6  Formula and ratio
Week 7  Preparation/Revision for assessment
Week 8  Controlled Task ( 5 hours)
Week 9  Confirmatory Test Preparation
Week10 Confirmatory Test (45 minutes)
