COURSE OBJECTIVE

For practitioners who assess knowledge and/or skills in vocationally related subject areas who use the following assessment methods: assessments in simulated environments, skills tests, oral and written questions, assignments, projects, case studies and RPL. This may take place in training workshops, classrooms or other learning environments..

Delegates will be required to have competence in the vocational area that they will be assessing and have access to a cohort of learners in order to gather the range of evidence through assessment. Delegates are required to have an occupationally competent counter signatory.

COURSE DELIVERY

The Course will be delivered over four mandatory workshops, currently these are remote teaching sessions. Delegates will then be required to collect a portfolio of evidence which will include observation/s  by your assessor of you carrying out assessments.

KEY TOPICS

Unit 1: Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment (3 credits)
Unit 3: Assess Vocational Skills, Knowledge and Understanding (6 credits)

Course Duration

4 Workshops (9.30am – 4.30pm)
Up to 6 months to complete the portfolio of work the workplace observations.

Qualification Achieved

Pearson Edexcel Award in Assessing Vocational Related Achievement (AVA) Level 3
