The foundation Certificate aims to provide you with a basic level of Accounting and finance skills which you can utilise in the workplace. You will develop skills in finance admin, double entry book keeping, basic costing principles and purchase, sales and general ledgers.
This qualification is aimed at accounts assistants/clerks, cashiers, credit control clerks, finance assistants, purchase ledger clerks or sales ledger clerks and book keepers.
A series of one day weekly workshops along with a progress review meeting which will take place either remotely or in the workplace. There is a scheduled exam date for each unit.
Day 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM
Twilight classes on a Tuesday and Wednesday 5pm - 7.30pm
Elements of costing (ELCO)
Using accounting software (UACS)
Bookkeeping transactions (BTRN)
Bookkeeping controls (BKCL)
Working effectively in finance (WEIF) (assessed through a synoptic computer-based exam which does include the items from the previously assessed units above)
*Funding may be available for this level 2 qualification for learners who are ineligible for Apprenticeship funding (For instance, the unemployed or those with a degree).
A one off fee of £250 in order to cover registration and exam fees.
Students who are currently not in employment may be fully funded subject to criteria being met.
