This qualification will guide and assess the development of knowledge and skills of those employed within the health and social care sector. The programme is aimed at those supporting adults in the health and social care sector in roles such as Healthcare Assistants, Support Workers in primary care environment, Domiciliary Care Workers, and Care Worker
An assessor will visit the candidate at their workplace once a month for a minimum of 2 hours. Observations will be agreed between the learner and assessor and it is the responsibility of the learner to liaise with their employer for this to take place within the workplace. In addition to this, underpinning knowledge of the units will need to be provided by the learner. This can take the form of written questions, completing workbooks or reflective accounts. The learner will be expected to spend at least 6 hours per week completing work before the next meeting with their assessor. To complete this qualification a portfolio of workplace evidence has to be completed. The evidence can be from observations, professional discussions, product evidence, case studies and witness statements
