Mental Health First Aid (Wales) Adult

Mental Health First Aid is an educational course which teaches participants how to identify, understand and help a person who may be developing a mental health issue. In the same way as we learn physical first aid, Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to recognise those crucial warning signs of mental ill health. Suitable for people looking for employment in healthcare support, education or social work.

The aim of the course is to:

Identify signs and symptoms of common mental health problems.

Preserve life where a person may be a danger to themselves or others.

Provide help to prevent a mental health problem developing into a more serious issue.

Promote recovery of good mental health.

Provide comfort to a person experiencing mental distress.

Provide information on how to access help and support.
