About this course

Our Level 3 Apprenticeship in Retail enables learners to develop and practise the skills required for employment and career progression in the retail industry. The Apprenticeship looks at all areas of visual merchandising including dressing displays, positioning signage, making and managing props and managing budgets.

Learners can choose from a range of units, to ensure that they gain the skills needed to make improvements in the workplace.

This programme is aimed at those who work in a more senior, supervisory or management positions in Retail, and has 3 different pathways: Management, Sales Professional and Visual Merchandising.

Learners will be required to undertake a mixture of mandatory units and optional units (we will work with you to decide what optional units are relevant to your role, and your business).

Mandatory units include:

  • Understanding customer service in the retail sector
  • Understanding the management of risks to health and safety on the premises of a retail business
  • Understanding the retail selling process
  • Understanding the development of personal and team effectiveness in a retail business

When you agree to undertake an Apprenticeship, you may be required to complete Essential Skills qualifications, depending on your previous qualifications, the Apprenticeship level you are completing and your own particular needs.

This qualification will primarily be delivered through 1-to-1 sessions with a member of our delivery team, using a mixture of face-to-face and remote learning sessions.

Upon enrolment, learners are also allocated an assessor. Throughout the qualification, the assessor will visit the learner either at their workplace or remotely (for example, via Microsoft Teams) on a monthly basis, to support progress, observe and set tasks.

Learners are supported and encouraged throughout their qualification to reach their full potential in their chosen industry.

Future employment opportunities include:

  • Senior Sales Assistants
  • Team Leaders
  • Supervisors
