ACT, Wales’ leading and largest training provider, has achieved the highest level of accreditation possible from Investors in People - We invest in people, Platinum accreditation. Only 2% of organisations worldwide who gain IIP accreditation achieve platinum status!

The Investors in People standards are internationally recognised accreditations held by over 10,000 organisations across the world. Using rigorous assessment methodology and frameworks, the IIP sets a benchmark for better people management. In a platinum company, everyone – from the CEO to a customer services apprentice – knows they have a part to play in the company doing well, and is always looking for ways to improve.

ACT is all about people! The company’s mission and passion is to make a positive difference to people’s lives through providing excellent learning provisions, and all 371 of their staff come into work each day to do just that. Over the past 3 decades ACT, which is now part of the Cardiff and Vale College Group, has been delivering School Programmes, Traineeships, Apprenticeships and Higher Apprenticeships to its diverse intake of learners with over 6,500 people passing through their doors each year.

Being responsible is at the core of ACT’s business model and permeates through everything they do. The company recognise life is simply too short to be unhappy and invest just as much in their staff’s happiness and wellbeing as their learners. With centres located throughout Wales, ACT and their staff work towards the goal of making Wales a better place both socially and economically.

Paul Devoy, CEO of Investors in People, said: “We’d like to congratulate ACT. Platinum accreditation on We invest in people is a remarkable effort for any organisation, and places ACT in fine company with a host of organisations that understand the value of people.

Commenting on the award, Richard Spear, Managing Director of ACT, said: “ACT has long embraced the IIP framework as we firmly believe that staff engagement and empowerment are key to delivering brilliant services to our learners. We are absolutely delighted to have been awarded the highest Platinum status and particularly proud to have achieved the highest ever benchmark score for a company of our size in our sector. It is testament to the amazing team of colleagues we have at ACT.”

Cardiff and Vale College Group Chief Executive Mike James added: “Being awarded Investors in People Platinum accreditation is fantastic news for ACT and the CAVC Group. Investors in People is all about valuing and listening to our staff and making the CAVC Group a great place to work so we are delighted that the progress we have made in these areas has been recognised.

“This is an award for everyone, for working together and contributing to the development of our vision and values. There’s always more work to do, but this is an exciting foundation on which to build as we continue to develop as an organisation.”

Investors in People and ACT believe that the success of your organisation begins and ends with people. If we make work better for everyone, we make work better for every organisation. And if we do that… we make society stronger, healthier and happier.
