Following the latest government restrictions, all delivery is currently taking place remotely online.
We are fully committed to ensuring you continue your learning journey with ACT, and are able to access the support you may need during these challenging times. Our main priority is and always will be, your health and wellbeing and ensuring you are able to continue your learner journey. Please keep in regular contact with your Tutor/Assessor, and let us know if you require any further support.
All delivery will continue remotely online, until further announcements are made by Welsh Government. Essential skills delivery will also continue digitally to support the Traineeships delivery schedule.
During this time, we will continue to offer wellbeing and pastoral support for our learners via keeping in touch calls and sessions with our Attendance and Wellbeing Officers. We recommend and encourage all learners to access these services so we can ensure that you are fully supported and your wellbeing needs are being met.
Although things may look a little different for those learners who do need to come into centre, there will be clear guidelines throughout all of our centres to help keep everyone safe. This video, which follows Welsh Government guidelines, will help you to familiarise yourself with any new procedures.
All delivery will continue remotely online, until further announcements are made by Welsh Government with employer visits currently suspended. For those learners attending essential examinations and tests at Ocean Park House (OPH) these will take place in our COVID-19 compliant rooms. For those undertaking examinations at OPH, this video, which follows Welsh Government guidelines, will help you to familiarise yourself with the new procedures that are currently in place throughout the building, helping everyone to stay safe. The main method of digital delivery will remain in place for the foreseeable future. Assessors will continue to work from home and learner assessments and reviews will take place online (where possible).
During these challenging and uncertain times, we understand how important it is that we support one another as much as possible. We also recognise not all of our learners’ needs and circumstances are the same. As such, we are currently providing various wellbeing provisions for our learners. Our fully qualified counsellors are on hand to listen to any issues you may have and we also provide a Foodbank service which operates from our Cardiff and Caerphilly centres. Both of these services can be accessed via your tutor or assessor, whom we encourage you contact for any support, or wellbeing needs you may need.
Specific guidance for staff is available here.
It is mandatory for all staff, learners and visitors to OPH and all ACT centres to wear a face covering in communal areas. These must be worn on entering any centre, when walking around it and in all general communal spaces.
We understand that some people are exempt from wearing a face covering. Any staff member who feels they are exempt from wearing one, must notify their line manager and learners must notify their tutor as soon as possible. All learners and staff identified will be issued purple lanyards to communicate their exemption.
We are encouraging all learners, staff and visitors to keep up to date on the most recent advice and guidance relating to Coronavirus.
