Take a walk down the high street and note all the hairdressing salons, baber shops, chain beauty stores, the retail and commercial sector is continuously growing and will always be in high demand for skilled workers and apprentices. Hairdressing is one of the most popular areas within this sector offering many opportunities, from winning awards in hairdressing, working on film sets to styling for photo shoots. With the public willing to pay hair professionals for advice and styles skills in this sector will always come in handy.

An apprenticeship in hairdressing will give you the chance to get creative, learn great new skills and gain real working experience in a salon. You will learn all the basics of hairdressing from shampooing and conditioning, drying and styling hair to mixing and applying hair colouring.

  • Placement with a top employer
  • Training Allowance payable of £50 per week (minimum) whilst training leading to employment.

The apprenticeship has turned my life around. I wasn't interested in school or college but with the placement I'm more motivated and look forward to going to work each day.
