Engineers build and design the things that make our world go round. Motor Vehicles have changed life beyond all recognition. Twenty miles used to be a day's journey - now it's a normal commute. Vehicle transport plays an essential role in most people's lives, which explains how the vast industry is continuously growing in importance.

The retail motor industry offers a broad range of opportunities for young apprentices with roles varying from repair and servicing vehicles to rescuing motorists. Generally, engineering apprentices will learn to take on an operator role in a certain area of engineering. This could involve anything from assembling car engines to diagnosing and repairing complex faults using sophisticated diagnostic equipment. Most duties will involve the maintenance of equipment and machinery.
