In the UK, roughly one million people are estimated to work in IT and over twenty million people are estimated to use IT in their jobs. With such significant numbers it's hard to believe that many struggle with applications and general computing skills. The IT sector can be divided into two categories: the companies that provide IT solutions - such as software consultants, web developers and systems analysis - and those that use IT in more of a business emphasis like project management, finance and communication. With the IT sector continuously growing, developing your IT skills will be a great asset to any work force.
