Skill Build is
aimed at learners who are not employed and who require occupational skills
learning.
ACT delivers training programmes to those unemployed people who are
undecided on their occupational goals. These "Preparation to Work"
programmes operate within our dedicated training centres and incorporate
training covering IT skills, life skills and basic skills.
Foundation Modern Apprenticeship is an
employment based learning programme at Level 2. It follows a
framework developed by the industry Sector Skills Council. It
consists of a nationally recognised qualification (NVQ), Key Skills
and a vocationally related certificate. Each of the qualification
elements are required for the completion of the framework.

| 14 - 16 Provision |
| ACT offers a wide range of learning
opportunities for young people in years 10 & 11. Young people
aged 14 - 16 can be referred by teachers to attend a
training site where they can work towards a range
of high quality vocational qualifications. They are able to
follow the "Vocational Access Certificate" and an NVQ
Level 1 qualification. |
