Ynys Hywel outdoor activity centre is opening its doors to the public on Thursday, 2 April from 10am to 3pm. Come and have an unforgettable outdoor adventure!
Take part in lots of exciting indoor and outdoor activities from archery, camp craft, petting corner, and meet our expert team of activity instructors. Light refreshments will also be provided.
Perfect for schools and families, corporate team building days or weekend retreats, all visitors are guaranteed to have fun, learn essential communication and team building skills whilst also having a go at something new.
Keri Ilston, Ynys Hywel Centre Manager, said: “This is the first time we are opening to the public so we are encouraging everyone to come to our open day and experience our activities and facilities. All ages and abilities are welcome – we have something for everyone.”
As well as offering action-fuelled activities, Ynys Hywel also has a very relaxing and snug retreat that boast a range of dorms that can sleep up to 30 people, a log cabin style dining area and a large fully-equipped kitchen – perfect for relaxing and unwinding in after a physical and mentally challenging day. All of these areas will be available for you to see and enjoy during Open Day.
Ynys Hywel is situated within the beautiful Sirhowy Valley Country Park between Ystrad Mynach and Caerphilly, South Wales. This unique part of South Wales offers an amazing backdrop for gaining new experiences, building your self confidence and learning new skills.
Traditionally, Ynys Hywel was set up to provide amazing learning experience outside the classroom for trainees and apprentices on programme at ACT Training, Wales’ leading training provider. Ynys Hywel is now expanding its provision and offering activities and programmes to members of the public whilst also continuing to support learning curriculums at ACT. Programmes on offer this summer include:
